I'd like to find a reputable replacement laptop screen seller. If you've had positive experience(s) it might help me navigate the maze of online retailers.
 
You are right about the plethora of repairers and purveyors.

But, the answer might depend on what make and model you have. My personal approach would be to explore EBay to see if I could acquire a complete duplicate laptop for replacement or cannibalization.

My next choice would be to use a local repair facility where I could deal face to face.
 
Ebay does have the advantage of a feedback system. Not much help though if the screen flips out a month later due to cheap manufacturing. NewEgg's system is one step better, but better still is feedback here. They are a lot cheaper now than a few years ago so I suppose I'll roll the dice and go withebay. It's a Dell vostro 1500, but for a friend. Thanks Corkyg.
