Doing some business software development on this in Windows 8, so it doesn't need to be a gamer's delight but the faster the better. What I'm most interested in:
Decent CPU (no celeron, otherwise I'm open)
250 GB+ HDD, prefer 7200 RPM but swappable with SSD is good too.
15"-17" screen size
capable of 16+ GB RAM
built in wifi (does anyone *not* do this today?)
3 or more USB ports, 3.0 preferred.
accelerated GPU (doesn't have to be top of the line, but I do a little OpenGL work.)
no need for integrated DVD but nice to have. This laptop doesn't need to be a featherweight, though lighter is better.
Most important, a line that is known for good reliability. I've used Dell in the past and had good luck, but the last time I bought a laptop was 5 years ago and I'm not sure if after all their troubles and going private they're still making good boxes.
Thanks, looking forward to your advice and happy to clarify where needed.
