Looking for a QUIET keyboard!

Can someone point me to a QUIET keyboard? I recently changed over to the MS Natural Pro keyboard, and while I love the split design, easy access keys, and USB ports, the noise from typing on the keys is just too darn loud. As silly as this sounds, this is an issue when your computer is in your bedroom and either you or your partner are typing late at night and keeping the other awake!

Ideally the replacement keyboard will still include the split (ergonomic design) at the minimum and perhaps the USB ports and easy access keys at the most. I went to our local Best Buy to check out what they had, and of course, all of them were entirely too loud. I know quiet keyboards used to exist - in fact I think my original (three years ago?) MS Natural keyboard as quiet as a mouse to type on.

Any help would be extremely appreciated!

Both Keytronics and Mitsumi keyboards have really soft keys that don't much noise. These are the only two that I've used that are quiet... relative to what else I've used.

LOL... I'm using this pretty old Dell keyboard that weighs like 10lbs, and it sounds like a machinegun when you type (assuming you type fast...) 🙂 I like it.. It has a nice feel to it.

Eli! i know what you mean, i have that keyboard as well! LOL its an insane keyboard!!!

the mitsumis are pretty soft, I have one right here beside me, but im using a Fujitsu 8720 and i think its softer than this other mitsumi

if you can type fast with all your fingers, then its pretty soft. Touch typing with just 2 or 3 fingers adds alot more sound

I had a Fujitsu keyboard a while ago. not split design, just an el cheapo board. worked fine. nice and quiet. the keys have less throw to them, kind of like keyboards on Laptops.
