Looking for a quiet and low-profile CPU cooler

I'm putting together a HTPC with a Socket AM2 Sempron 3000+ CPU. I'm trying to keep it as quiet as possible, so without paying much attention I bought a Scythe Ninja rev B heatsink for the CPU. As soon as I received it, I realized there's no way that's coming close to fitting in the MicroFly case I have, so that's out.

Can somebody recommend me a smaller Heatsink/Fan that will fit and make as little noise as possible? I was looking at the CoolerMaster Silencer 64 Ultra , but I can't find anything on whether that's compatible with AM2 motherboards.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The AMD 4-heatpipe heatsink that comes with Opterons and some higher-end X2s should give you sufficient cooling with near-silence. You can always install an 80mm fan of your choice if the stock 80x15mm fan is too loud.

Alternatively, the XP-90 might also do the trick. You would need to supply your own fan (92mm), which gives you some flexibility in balancing airflow vs. noise.

Both of the heatsinks listed are AM2 compatible, low-profile, lightweight, and cool effectively with a modest amount of airflow; the AMD can be found for ~$20 shipped (eBay), and the XP-90 for $25 + shipping (various retailers, i.e. svc.com).
