looking for a PURE copper heatsink

it shouldn't be too large, about the size of the athlon thunderbird cpu (not one of those that are way larger than the socket). any recommends?
it's important that it's made out of 100% pure copper, no copper / al mix or something like that.

thanks a lot

dare I ask why this is so important??

I'll try to built my own waterblock. Those Waterblocks you can buy all have a pretty small contact surface with water. I thought I might achieve better cooling when I use a usual high qualety heatsink an build a water flowing system around it (instead of airflow) then the cooling effect might be better.
I can't mix up aluminium and copper because if you put those two metal together under water then there will be some kind of chemical reaction. I don't know exactly how it works, but it has somthing to do with the electro chemical current table (something we learned about in school). You can see the result if you put a piece of silver (e.g. a silver dollar) into a copper water pipe. There will soon be a whole in the pipe.

🙂

This is only going to be somewhat helpful, since I don't specifics, but there is evidently an additive you can add to the water in the system that will prevent the "battery" and "corrosion" effect.

Kanie Hedgehog...small size and great cooling. The original copper HSF...

Also for those suggesting the SK6 or the GW...aren't those very large? He was specific in saying he didn't want one that was much bigger the CPU socket.

SK6 *is* larger than the Socket but not by much. We are not talking Taisol here. Its a comparitively small heatsink.

Insane3D you are right, the Kanie Hedgehog is the heatsink to get...

Thanks again, you were the men, telling me to stick with the hedgehog.. it runns great, but only with a adapter... I hate it when it gets noisy... I thought it was the best choice to get a 5000 rpm fan, but that thing is heck too loud...

anyhow... great idea, i am getting a pump and set it up in the basement to avoid noise, plus I install the water pott in a frezer or somewhere... wow this is going to be awesome,,, the only thing you would here are your drives...

thanks again... he knows what he is talking about....

The SK6 is not large.

another contender is the OCZ Gladiator, it does have an aluminum shield over it tho, anodized purple. but there isn't a mixture of aluminum and copper in the base itself.
