roommates keep coming on and stopping my downloads when i limit to 10 d/l 3k u/l

Er... in XP, just turn off the graphical login menu, make sure your account has a password, then press Windows key + L when you leave your keyboard?

Of course, if you're really pissing them off, they'll probably just start turning your computer off.

i know the roommates real well. but i'm gana be gay and pw protect my pc.

then i'll probably just unhook the power button in the case if that occurs hehe

Just set a password on your screen saver.

And make sure you password protect the Administrator account if you haven't already.

BIOS password

Have a password for the administrator account and have a 1 min. delay screen saver with a password. They can't get on the computer after you've left it due to the screen saver, and if they turned it off or restarted it, would need a password to get into Windows.
