looking for a program that reads text

I've used Kurziwell before but don't like it. Is there any others that reads text with a more natural voice/pace and do any support pdf? Pdf isn't a big deal as I can copy and paste it into notepad.

Assume you mean oral speech software? Or, scanware that reads text and converts to .DOC or PDF? If you mean speech (Kurzweill is a clue) then take a look at Dragon. Supposedly the best.

acrobat has a "read out loud" feature but it might not be as natural as you want

No software solution is going to be able to perfectly replicate the pace and inflection of a real person's voice, but the technology is definitely improving. I like Dragon quite a bit, but it's not cheap.

NaturalReader is actually fairly decent considering that it is free.
