Hello all,

I am currently looking at upgrading my current computer hardware setup. I want to use it for Video Editing, Motion Graphics, Internet, and Adobe Suite Products. Since I need it for Video Editing, I need a powerful system for the rendering. All I require is a Motherboard, a Video Card, RAM, and a Processor, since I am re-using my current monitor, case, power supply,cd-rom and hard drives. My budget is $450-$650. I also want to stay with a PC.

This is the current setup that I am looking at:

(1)<a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813131013">ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail - $135

(2)<a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820145590">CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400 - Retail - $26 each

(1)<a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819103258">AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ 2.4GHz Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor Model ADO4600DOBOX - Retail - $66

I would love to get as much RAM and speed as possible, but my friend told me I am limited to 3GB RAM anyways, since I don't have a 64bit OS, or something like that. I don't understand it that well. I hope you can help me out.

Please let me know what setup you would recommend for my situation.

I don't know about the specific requirements of your various programs, but the 8800GTS you have there is outdated. An 8800GT 512MB would be faster and less expensive. An 8800GTS 512MB would be faster still, but slightly more expensive.

For Video editing and rendering you need CPU power not graphics card. You don't need an SLI board, and as DSF said the 640 GTS is an outdated gaming card.

For your stated purpose this would be much better

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L $90

Core 2 Quad Q6600 $220

9600 gt $120 AR

Same ram you linked

The CPU is easily overclockable and beats anything AMD makes, the 9600gt is a better gaming card than the one you linked and much cheaper. You don't really need the 9600gt you could drop it down to and 8600gt and save more
