I'm looking to upgrade my 36" VVega CRT to something new, the Panasonic TH42PX80 caught my eye, well either the 42 or the 50" model. I want to run my a HTPC threw it so full 1080p is definitely something I want. The Pioneer I was looking at is only 720p and that's not going to work, even if the picture is the best out there. Their full 1080p set is SICK but really too expensive for me to consider, almost twice the price of the Panny. I'm not really a huge fan of LCD, but I know unless I'm willing to spend a bundle a 1080p Plasma will probably end up being BUCKS.
This is what's confusing me, I'm not dumb, but seeing this sort of has me scratching my head. This directly relates to the 42" model.
The hdtvtest.co.uk review says clear as day under the "cons"
Native resolution only 1024 x 768 (not true HD)
Panny's site says clear as day 1920x1080 - which I know is native resolution 1080p.
what the hell is the hdtvtest site saying about native resolution? I've never heard of a 1080p set with anything but 1920x1080. That's the only review I can find, what am I not understanding about their statement? I really like this set but if it's not truly 1080p it won't work well for a HTPC setup.
*EDIT*
scratch my question the review is for the PX model and the PZ is the one I'm looking at. Now it makes sense lol.
But anyone who has one care to comment on the new "New Anti-Reflective Filter"? sounds like a gimmick but might be interesting.
