Anyone know where or when to get one of these boards?

Also, can you use a P4 Socket423 processor in a P4 Socket478 Motherboard?

The i845 motherboards are available now.....I think the ASUS P4B looks decent.

At this point in time, you cannot use S423 processors on S478 boards, although I hear there may be adapters coming in the future.

At the moment your best choice is the Abit TH7 II. It's out now, is 478 pin, takes Rambus and is i850 based. i845 with SDram is a waste of time iMO

Azza has a new board out with the via p4x266 chipset for socket 478. It supports ddram, which is faster than the 845 chipset, but slower than the 850 boards with rdram. It's only $110, and comes with a 2 year warranty.

I've used both socket 478 845 and 850 chipset boards. Trust me, you don't want a 845. It's kind of like buying a Ferrari that's had it's engine taken out and replaced with a Yugo 3 cylinder.
