I realize that there are alot of these type of threads, but anyways.

I am looking to build a P4 machine. I could be pursuaded to go with AMD,
but for now I was thinking Intel around 2.53 with FSB 533

I have read god knows how many reviews on Pentium 4 motherboards.

Now I am not stuck on a specific chipset in mind.
845, 850, SIS, just looking for the best of all worlds.

Just looking for some helpful input.

Though one thing I can say is that I am not looking for
a motherboard with an integrated graphics.

How about the Abit IT7 MB, it's rated very high and it doesn't have intergrated graphics. It is a bit costly and has no legacy ports though, only USB.

I'd hold out another few weeks for an Intel Granite Bay chipset motherboard, positively insane memory bandwidth to be had there:D! If I had to make a move now, I'd get the Asus P4B533. . .but waitaminnit, I already have one:p!

I'd really wait if i could, GB will be excellent;).

Well if you are looking for a chipset that will run 533fsb only, then you can look at the P4S533 boards (Sis chips), if you want to get the next step up, the P4B533 is better...or then wait for the newer chipsets to come out later this year
