Looking for a nice drawing tablet

Seeing how there's probably more than one person on these forums using one, I thought I'd just ask 🙂. I'm looking for a drawing tablet (size A5 or higher), that isn't too expensive (<$100) and doesn't want to take over your mouse.

I saw some nice Wacom ones, but they come with a mouse and the sales rep told me that I can't use the mouse I have now and still use the drawing tablet at the same time (for example, use the mouse to navigate into Photoshop and draw something with the tablet without unplugging one or the other).

If anyone knows one, please tell me 🙂.

Those things look like fun...I've always wanted one but can't justify it since i don't draw or anything like that. Still though...tempting. Maybe I'll find a real cheap one somewhere.

Yeah, I saw the Trust 4200 something-something.. Excellent reviews and said to be a Wacom Intuos killer. It's kind of on the pricey side for Trust (~$90) and it forces you to use that crappy mouse 🙁..

Seeing how it's a Razer Copperhead, I don't think so 😛..

I don't see why you can't use your mouse and a Wacom tablet at the same time. I have my MX1000 and Wacom Intuos3 working at the same time.

Which brings me to the next point, definitely shell out more than $100 if you want something that lasts. The Intuos3 is really nice if you can afford it, and if you can't, I would suggest the Graphire 4. Buy whatever size you want, I went with the 4x5 because that was my monitor ratio (19" LCD).

Yeah man, I think that sales rep has no clue wtf she's talking about cause I use my mouse and my Wacom simultaneously without any problems.

Hmm, weird. Anyways, I don't have a lot of cash, but a large tablet would be awesome. I draw (on paper) and tracing that would rock! Standard paper size over here is A4, so a tablet at least that size would be awesome. Great to hear you can use your own mouse and a tablet at the same time, too 🙂.

Regular sized paper? Isn't that like 8.5" x 11"? That's pretty big for a tablet.

Text. Cheapest one I could find in your size range. I doubt it's anywhere close to Wacom quality, but Intuos3 9 x 12 would cost around $400, so if you want ot risk it, it's your choice... I couldn't find a single review on it so don't ask me how well it works.

I have one thats about 4 years old, I think it's letter size (A4), and it works fine with a mouse. I used it for a month or so, put it in a box and haven't touched it since. If you're interested in an older model I'll dig it out and find the specs, perhaps we could work out a deal.

Btw, I think it has a pen and a puck.

Get a wacom. You can most certainly use your regular mouse and the tablet at the same time, I do it all the time. Sales rep was confused about your question or just stupid. Get the Intuos.
