Well I'm really starting to get into console gaming and love watching blu rays on my monitor. However, I would really like to get a new tv to do this on. Could you guys help me figure out what tv to get?

I am going to use it mainly for gaming and Blu-Ray watching. I am looking for something in the range of 40" - 50" at most. My budget is pretty much unlimited but I would like to save some money if possible.

I hope this is all the information you guys need.

Well, if you really have an unlimited budget, this is an easy one: get one of the new Pioneer plasmas - the 50-inch PRO-111FD, to be exact. Only $5000!

Or do you not have unlimited money, and want to give us a price range? :)

Oh man, that's what I like to hear. Unlimited? Try this on for size. :)

But seriously, coming back down to earth, I'd recommend the Samsung 52A650 or Pioneer Elite 111FD that erwos recommended. Both are beautiful displays and I'm sure you'd be VERY happy with either one. Just go into your local HT store and check them out for yourself in person.

okay. I guess I went a little overboard with the unlimited comment. What I meant to say is I'm not looking for a budget tv. I am willing to spend some bucks!

so $2500 or less would be nice.

Ah, in that case, I'd go for the Samsung LNT5271F. $2300 shipped from Amazon.

For 2500 or so, the 52A650 is the perfect price, and IMO is one of the best displays currently on the market. If you want to add a subwoofer and 1GB of onboard media storage to the TV for whatever reason, the 52A750 can be found for about 125 bucks more as well.

I own a Panasonic 42" 720p model and love playing 360/watching HD on it. If you are seriously into gaming and need to keep up w/ the jones' go with a 50" 1080p TV. I would recommend plasma, but I like it better so that may be biased. The Panasonic's are really good quality TV's that won't take you to the bank, but still offer great performance.

I'm thinking you may be able to get the 111FD for ~$3500 (street value), but if you can't swing that, I'd HIGHLY recommend the Samsung 52A650. It should fit your $2500 budget very nicely. Check it out at your local HT store, I think you'll really like it. The 650 is no slouch. It is a VERY nice display.

Oh, so I checked out that 650 at my local best buy. Amazing!

The price though...not so amazing. $3700 Canadian.

Way over budget with that.
