I'm loking to upgrade my old Hauppauge WinTV-Radio PCI card with one that is a HDTV
(64/256) QAM suport.

I am looking at maybe getting the Dvico FusionHDTV 5 or the KWorld PlusTV HD PCI 115.
But can't find any good reviews of ether card, so I was wondering if any one has ether of
these card or know of any other card that has good video quality.

I tried the Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1800, but it has poor video quality and when I emailed
then about the Dolby Digital AC3 and how to set it for SPDIF pass through to get the 5.1
audio on my surround sound receiver, thay told me the the card would only do stereo sound
only, but when i use the trial version of SageTV and AC3filter it will pass in the AC3 audio
to my surround sound receiver for the 5.1 or 2.0 audio depending on the the HD show i'm
whatching. So I returned it back to them.

HDTV PCI Tuner Card & USB HDTV Tuner Chart

I feel like my Fusion RT Gold runs circles around the HVR-1600 in image quality & performance - can't speak to the HVR-1800. I pass the AC3 audio thru to my SS receiver without a problem and my captured tp streams playback with AC3. I'm not sure the K-World does hardware signal decoding - my Fusion runs @ 5-10% cpu utilization with ATSC.

The current drivers are stable - with the exception of the *timeshifting function* . For some odd reason it seemed every time I would check the OTA Fox national feed and they would switch to the local feed it would crash.

I disabled the timeshifting function and never had any more problems.

If you have any other questions check out the DVICO Fusion 5 HDTV tuner thread at the AVS Forum. It's only 80 pages long . . . . :D

I noticed on the last page there are suggestions for correcting my timeshifting problem . . .
