my msi k7t pro2-a just died and i need a new motherboard. i have a tbird 1.3 (200) and sdram. i *may* be willing to go ddr, but i dont think its realy justified yet, unless you are completely building a new system.

i was thinking:
msi k7t master limited edition.
iwill kk266 (or whatever the sdr one is)

anything else? i need it fairly soon, and i _do_ do overclocking, so that is a factor as well, but not as much as stability. i would rather have a 1.3 stable as a rock than a 1.5 that crashes all the time. (this chip can do 1500+ easily)

thanks

look into ABIT if you like to overclock ABIT is the board to use

abit is nice, but i've hear many horror stories about the kt7 and the kt7-raid, dunno about the kt7a/kt7a-raid

so many motherboards out there.. 😉

I have an iwill kk266 in my system right now. NOthing but headahces the last 2 months, Im going out today to buy quality (ASUS A7V133)

To many positives on this board to pass up

well I have been using ABIT for years...they are sometimes not as stable as the ASUS I have seen but for overclocking I personally love the ABIT boards...but then that is only my opinion out of millions out there...do some research...gigabyte and ASUS have some really stable boards also that can be easily overclocked

asus a7v133 is kt133A chipset right?

so i guess its down to:
msi k7t turbo limited edition
abit kt7a
asus a7v133

hrmmm

oh yeah
i was just reading, and i thought of something else...
i have an sb live! value soundcard
i NEED this soundcard, for my music production.
so it has to be compatible

I'd go with KK266-R if u are a serious ocer, but if not, Asus A7V133 is da best, plus it has plenty of ocing features to boost.

P.S. As far as SB Live!, just make sure u flash the latest BIOS and install the 4-in-1's 4.32 or later and u shouldn't have any SB Live! issues
