Hi this is my system setup:

2600 @ 3055ghz @1.55V (234/186 = 5:4 ratio)
Abit IS7 Bios 1.6 Gat - Auto all settings
2x256 Geil PC3500 Ultra Platinum @2-6-2-2@2.8V
Radeon 8500 64mb
Dvd Rom
Cd-writer
Stock heatsink +fan + 4 case fans + 1 light tube
350Watt TurboLink power supply

recently i purchased Zalman cnps7000cu to increase my chances of overclocking.
Now in the future I would like to upgrade my videocard, and buy a dedicated sound card like Audigy 2

My concern is that even if I purchase the videocard like Radeon 9700 I will potentially compromise my system stability or wont have enough CPU power

Do you think I should upgrade the power supply now? I would like to push my p4 to at least 3.25ghz

If you think just like I do that i should upgrade the power supply, then based on many reviews I think these are very good:

Antec TruePower 480W $91 or TrueBlue for same price (not sure if it has PFC or not)
Thermaltake PurePower Silent 480W wo/PFC $65 and w/PFC $75
Fortron FSP-400-60PFN 400W (w/PFC) $65
Forton FSP-530-60GNA 530W (wo/PFC) $75
Zalman ZM400A-APF 400W (w/PFC) $81

Now essentially Zalman and Forton 400s are same units since they share components and are both ranked very reliable and produce more wattage than advertised,
thermaltake purpower is a good too but i haven't heard too much response about it from the overclocking community and it has slightly higher ripple effects
Antec is obviously one of the best but its priced a bit higher..

Now I was loooking and it seems to be best value would be Fortron FSP-530Watts but it doenst have PFC

PFC is supposed to reduce the peak current and lowers the harmonic current from a PSU, providing better stability and less interference - how important is this? i dont really know since 1 fortron power supply has it and the other doesnt

any suggestions which power supply is the best? any other recommendations? would like to get the best value for the money

Thanx

Allied True 450W, best PSU for $39.

Running my P4 2.6C@3.25GHZ on Abit IS7 + AIW 9800 PRO rock stable.

Previously i had cable modem connected through my USB port and I have USB mouse and USB printer and i would get random reboots with Hardware monitor (monitoring utility) saying that my +3.3V, +5 and +12V and PWM was exceeding its limits and could be out of specs...

I then disconnected my cable modem and the problems seem to have gone away. But since I wanan buy a dedicated sound card and a more powerful videocard I just dont believe my 350watt power supply will hold

plus i have 4 case fans and a north bridge fan and 1 of those case fans is an LED fan, 2 hard drives, 2cd-roms

And I think the power supply could hinder some of my overclocking stability beyond 3.2ghz ...

Anyone else think I will be sufficient with the 350 watts my computer setup?

Ok about Allied 400 Watt power supply:

quote from anandtech:

"Allied has the weakest +3.3V rail, even less than the Antec 330W TruePower. The combined rail is severely underpowered, only putting itself ahead of the TurboLink 420W from the previous page. Also like the TurboLink power supply, this unit is not capable of the advertised 400W. The +12V rail and the +3.3V/+5.0 rail (combined) are capable of only 334W total, which put it way under the advertised 400W.

Even though Allied has produced a lot of good power supplies in the past, this is not one of them. This is basically a 350W power supply with a different label, and even though it retails around $40, the product does not justify the cost."

not sure about the 450 watt truepower suggested by another post

I've got the Antec TruePower 430 and I love it. I have my system LOADED with crap and it never skips a beat...
