Hi guys

Been looking at a new mouse.. I currently have a 20€ A4tech, it's working fine but i think i might be more comfortable with a bigger mouse, also i believe its feet might be starting to wear out and i fear that might slowly damage my recently bought razer hard surface mat.

The problem is.. i have no idea which to choose because no matter where i ago, in the midst of shining "5 star" reviews there's always demolishing reviews which trash the mouse..every single one of them.

The xai -software problems that make it unusable sometimes
naga - hardware problems
deathadder - button problems
g400 - nothing specific to point, seems to be the safest, but also mixes some of the above complaints here and there
abyssus - too bright led that never shuts off. er..lol. and possibly too small for me, not sure because i never picked one up.

So..yeah. I really have no idea, maybe i should just stick with the one i already have considering it's not giving me problems? It's not perfect but hey, it works.. Any feedback is appreciated.

More customizable buttons on your thumb, dpi changing is easier imo, the free-scrolling wheel and adjustable weight.

basically it has more features and is newer... I use it and love it

you can release the wheel, it wont go tick-tick anymore, spin it and it keeps spinning...

I was scared to buy it too after looking at the reviews... but mine works perfectly fine... that's all I can say...

Hmm how easy is it to get used to that kind of scrolling?

I'd also like to hear people who own the others before i make a decision..

It isn't easy. I had a G500 and dumped it. In large part because I prefer how the Naos supports my ring and pinky fingers (no other mouse does) and also because the mouse made a very high pitched noise whenever I moved the mouse. I could hear it, and it drove me up a wall.

Sold the mouse to a friend who can't hear it.

I used to have a Razor Mamba, it died and I jumped with joy because I absolutely hated that mouse! It never moved right for me, just couldn't get the mouse pointer to dance correctly. I now have a RAT 9 and its even worse than the mamba. Its too heavy for starters, has the sensor pickup and drop problem and despite all its customisable shaping there isn't a shape that fits me.

I find myself using a Logitech 518 at the moment and its a dream in comparison to these so called "gamers" mice from other companies. I don't understand people that like the Razor's and the Cyborg's, they are awful.

I'd dismiss any Razor products if I were you.

First time using them (Blackwidow Ultimate keyboard and Mamba 2012), and last time.

The Mamba has had phantom clicks that do nothing, sometimes taking 4-5 clicks before it registers. Doesn't happen all the time, but enough to be aggravating as hell. The software is well laid out and useful, but it takes about 15 seconds to switch profiles by using the taskbar icon, and manually setting a button can take 30 seconds before it 'sets' in the software. Then there is the random DPI switching; no idea why that happens, but again, annoying.

By the looks of things, you are not purchasing in the USA so the fact that the following mouse is on sale will mean little to you.

Have you considered the Logitech G9x? I have it and fully recommend it. From the logitech website, it's about 85 Euros (newgg sale conversion is about 45), but if you can find it locally on sale, I'd say go for it. It appears to be dropping everywhere in price.

12 megapixels/second Image processing - very precise
Interchangeable grips - handy
Onboard memory - take mouse to another computer and keep your settings, up to five profiles (keyboard macros, dpi settings, and LED colors)
Weight-tuning system - always a plus for mice
On-the-fly adjustable dpi - excellent feature for gaming

read the reviews at newegg.com and see that 77% of people give it 5/5, 12% gave it 4/5 (out of over 600 reviews)

you can read the benchmarkreviews.com review from 2010 on it. It's pretty in-depth and they eventually gave it a 9.0/10.

Happy mouse hunting.

Agreed - my mamba died within 3 months.

The g9x sounds pretty good functionally but i fear it might be a bit too small.. But i have not discarded it

How about the new Corsair M90? Looks pretty nice. Had software issues for macros because the software was completely new (corsair just started making mice if im not mistaken) but that seems to have been improved with updates to the program, not sure if it's fully working now or not yet. But i like its look and side buttons placement: http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/corsair_vengeance90/images/8.htm clearly some of those will be too hard to reach to even use at all, but the closer ones to the thumb LOOK pretty intuitive and in a better position than a lot of other mice. I just hope they're easy to press

I have a Deathadder 3.5g that I've been very happy with. Though I've looked at Steelseries mice and really like some of those.

If you're going for the deathadder get the black edition. Grippy rubber sides make all the difference.

I can't say it's the "best", but it's been one of the most popular gaming mice (mouses?) ever, so maybe these haters just can't work out how to use it properly..

My vote goes to the G400. Don't really have anything to compare it to, except my old generic Logitech, which felt like dragging a slab of wood on my table. The G400 is precise, even thought I don't use a mousepad. My hand is quite big, so it fits perfectly and it's weight is pretty nice too. Haven't spotted any problems with the software either.

What's free scrolling? btw a lot of negative comments on G500 at newegg mention a bad scroll wheel :s

Trusting reviews at any online site (even newegg, especially post-about 2005) is a joke. Go by what people here are saying (though I'd take it that with a grain of salt too). Any of those mice you have are generally well-received. I've had a g500 for almost two years, and it works great. Great improvement from my mx518.

I've had to RMA 2 G500's within the last 6 months. The first one the right click went out on and the RMA replacement to that is now shorting out. Most likely a bit of bad luck, but never-the-less I thought I would share my experience with them. The first mouse lasted about a year before the right click failed.
