Looking for a new motherboard for a Q6600 (Confused)

I built a computer 8 yrs ago and technology has changed🙂 Currently using a Dell 530 with a Q6600 chip, I would like to overclock it because I just ordered a ATI 5850 and I would like to upgrade to win 7 X64 (i'm still using XP X32). I already have a new case and corsair tx650 power supply I promised I searched but I'm a lost about these issues. Please don't shoot me for my lack of knowledge. Thank you for any help.

I'm taking the Q6600 out of the Dell motherboard and I noticed its a 65 nm chip, so my questions are.

1) Can the 65 nm chip fit into a 45 nm chip motherboard, does it matter?
2) I would like to reuse my corsair 800 ddr2 memory, can it fit into the motherboards that require 1066 or higher memory?
3) Would this board work? Alot of people liked it

Thank you question has been answered

1. Yes, and not really.

2. Yes, scaling slower is almost always never a problem.

3. Yes, that would work just fine.

I have never seen a mobo yet that was designed to support 45nm that would not support all 65nm processors.

Two suggestions:
1. go with the similar but cheaper UD3R board, unless planning to Crossfire.
2. Invest in faster DDR2 memory for better overclocking. I'd recommend the G.Skill "Pi" DDR2. Your existing DDR2 from the Dell machine should still bring some cash in the resale market.

I apperciate all the help, I decided to make the dell a media center.
I went ahead and bought a G'byte P45 motherboard, E5200 2.5 (I just want to overclock it to 3.0 ghz), rosewill 92 mm cpu fan, windows 7 X64, and 4 gigs of XMS.

Now I'm off to go figure out how to overclock🙂

Plus I'm still waiting on the ATI 5850 from dell (it's been almost 2 months since I ordered it), I bought for 250 dollars I should've waited for the price to drop.🙁
