I have that bag (it's sitting right here next to me, actually) and it is fantastic. It's extremely comfortable, extremely elegant and attractive, and very functional. The main pocket is big enough for a couple text books, some notebooks, and is wide enough to stash a water bottle in with the books. There are inside (under the flap) and outside document pockets as well which work wonderfully for loose sheets or another notebook. There's also a pen holder in the inner document pocket and a cell phone pocket on the outside end, easily accesible when the bag is on your shoulder. I've been carrying a laptop in it recently and have had no problems whatsover.

It's a great bag, I love it, and more than a few have complimented it. Good stuff. Cheap, too!

that is a nice bag. i might just get that, haha.

Amatuers.

Maxpedition is the shiznit. Ain't cheap but well worth it. Those dang department store back backs would last me about 6months. I've had the baby condor for 2 years now and it still looks like I took it out of the package. I also have the Fatboy shoulder bag. More manly looking, tactical grade, bulletproof overdone construction.

The current Alpha isn't made by Maxpedition, and it's not that heavy duty, certainly not as tough as the bags from Timbuk2. Dude is looking for a messenger bag with a provision for a laptop, not an assault pack, and wearing a RAID pack or some sh!t around Dupont Circle would just look dorky.

I do have to concede that the Fatboy is a badass manpurse, but I don't think you'll squeeze a laptop in there.

I think there was a post about this not too long ago, but I couldn't find it. :/

I recently moved out to the DC area and I spend most of my weekends on foot seeing what's around, etc. I'm trying to find a messenger-style bag that'll hold my stuff and I wondered if you guys and gals had any suggestions?

Usually I have my 15" laptop, cell, iPod, a couple notebooks, a book, and a few other small misc things.

The Ogio Hip Hop caught my eye and it looks quite nice. Anybody have any experience with this bag or can you recommend a similar/better bag?

Thanks!

that hiphop bad is held by the hand?!

you're going to put a 15" LAPTOP IN THERE? drop it, bang it against door/other things, easy to get stolen.

Why do you say that?

Didn't see the part about the "15 laptop. It may fit in a Falcon alright though...

I have a reload bag. Quite expensive to customize but completely and totally awesome. Will last me forever and has a lifetime guarantee.

Thanks so much everybody! I found a place in DC that sells the Chrome bags and I loved it! I ended up getting one of those and the laptop sleeve to go with it. :) Maybe somebody else can get some use out of this thread as well!!
