I am looking for a new LCD monitor for my PC. I know next to nothing about monitors. My PC is primarily for games, music files, internet, and DVD. Budget is 275.00. I could go for 300.00. Idealy Id like a 19" but I dont think the budget will allow for a quality 19". Ill settle for a 17" if the quality is adequate for what I want to do. I found a rosewill LCD but little to no reviews.

For 259.00 + 12.00 for fedex shipping New Egg.

I am not entirely opposed to a CRT. I think I could get a good 19" Flat screen for about the same price. Any commentary would be greatly appreciated.

LCD's are a great investment as I think they woop the pants off of CRT's. However, I made the mistake of buying one from Newegg (or any online retailer for that matter) and have to put up with 2, rather distracting, bright pink pixels near the the middle of the screen. Due to the 8-dead-pixel policy that Newegg has, I cannot return it.

Now I'm happy as heck with my monitor, but if you want to be guaranteed of no dead pixels, you may find yourself better off buying from somewhere B&M or Dell or whatnot.

I love my 17" Acer LCD Monitor.

DVI and D-Sub Inputs, 1280x1024 native resolution, and mine is very bright with no dead pixels.

Newegg price: $245.00 + 10 for shipping.

I heartily recommend it.

Edit: I bought mine from ZipZoomFly, to take advantage of free shipping.

Tiger Direct has an Acer 1912 - 19" LCD for $229.99 after $50 rebate. I've had this LCD for several months now and have been pleased with it. It has no bad pixels and the color, contrast and sharpness are all very good. It is coupled to an ATI 9800 vid card which I use to set it up instead of the OSD. It does not have DVI input, but it does not appear be cause for concern. I only play Tiger Woods 2004 Golf game; it looks and plays real good. This LCD is rated at 16.7M colors and 16ms response.
