oh ya, i am still using ABIT BE6 which mean it only supports ATA33( i believe)
do i need to change my motherboard too for a faster harddrive??

what is "Hydraulic"?
i see Maxtor and Seagate have HD that support "Hydraulic", but what is it anyways?

thanks

get a 80gig seagate cuda 4 !! its quiet, dirt cheap and fast enough for normal use (could be slow if you're kind of person who likes complaring benchmark bar graphs :) totally recommended :D

i like Quantum, it is very reliable.
i like IBM too, but all the drives i've had had no longer than 3 years of life.
western digital, maxtor, seagate ... i think they are good too..

just which to get ?

Have used Maxtors in 10, 40 and 60 gig flavours with no failures or even bad sectors.

Can't say the same for WD or Fujitsu.

The Maxtor 60 is available with fluid bearings which apparently saves a couple of decibles.
