I love video games, but these days I pretty much only play America'sArmy and CastleWolfensteing Enemy Territory, and I don't play them all that much to begin with.
For over 5 years I was a Unix/NT admin and I spent most of my computer time honing my admin skills.
For the last 2 years I have been a Network Analyst/Engineer supporting LAN/WAN swithes and routers...mostly Cisco and Nortel based. I can't really practice or develop my networking skills as they relate to Cisco, Nortel, etc.
on my home setup.
I run linux and I would love to contribute to the open source community , but alas, I am not a developer. My coding skills are limited to perl and bash scripts. A search on sourceforge.net's Help Wanted doesn't produce anything interesting to me.
I would love to work on visually creative projects, but I usually get no further than opening up Gimp, playing with a few supid filters and getting nowhere fast.
Any suggestions ?
