Looking for a new CD-Rom/DVD-Rom

I just remembered why I stopped copying cd's on the fly with my system, my DVD-Rom cannot keep up w/ my 24x drive. It is capable of reading cds at 32x but cannot keep the buffer filled as the burner uses it, and yes they're on different channels. My question is, what is the best and cheapest and fastest (lol) cd-rom/dvd drive out there. I do not neccessarily need a DVD drive, I don't watch many dvds. I was looking for the TrueX series but it seems that I cannot find them anywhere, and if I did I have a feeling it would not be cheap. Any ideas? Thanks!

me agrees with Mikable. I just ordered my Lite-on 166s 16x DVD drive from Newegg on Sunday. IMHO, $45 shipped can't be beat for the fastest DVD drive out there...
