Looking for a new Case

Looking for a Case that has good air flow, Not to loud, and has dust filters.

A clear pannel on the side would be nice but not needed.

Not looking for a fancy gaming type case.

Any help would be great.

What components are you putting in?
Do you overclock?
What's your budget?
 
MSI frozer 2 7950 , 256 gb ssd , 1 tb drive, intell cpu, 8 gig of ram not sure of the last two or the MB yet.
And yes i will over clock

Want a good case that will last a for some time.

SO lan li is not out of the price range.

Would like to stay below $ 200 if I can.

Half x is not a option I am not a fan of the looks and It draws in a lot of dust. It dose cool very good though.
 
If you're not sure about the CPU, I'm not sure if you can overclock... The CPU needs to be unlocked, with a suffix "K".

Ofc the 7950 will overclock nicely regardless.

If quietness is more important than airflow to you, I'd recommend the windowed Fractal Design Define R4 $120. Add another 140mm fan, e.g. this. The included fan controller accommodates three in total.

For better cooling and overclocking, take a look at Antec Eleven Hundred $100. With the stock exhaust fans it's already a beast at cooling even with the fans at medium-low speed. For optimal results I'd recommend adding two 120mm intakes.

You didn't mention where you're located though... somehow that's always the question people miss :>

The Antec P280 Looks really nice, if I wanted quiet and smaller thats the case I would have. I do love my Cosmos 2 though.
 
OK. I stand by that Define R4 recommendation. It's a great pairing with your inaudible PSU. Even with only three low RPM 140mm fans, you can overclock moderately. I've got a Define R3 with four 120mm fans and a 140mm fan, all at low RPM. I've got a +20% overclock on both the i7-920 and the GTX 560 Ti. Load temps: CPU 65C, GPU 75C.

I have loooked at all the recomendations and the Define R4 seems to be the best bet to me.
The Lian Li PC 90 looks like a good idea but read some complaints about the noise do to the hard drive mounting system. No hard drive cage's in the way of the air flow was a good idea but I am older and goten to were I don't like the the high picth noise of cpu/ gpu and case fans. Water cooling is to much cost for me to get into.

Not many reviws on the R4 but from what I saw they made some good changes.
To bad they dont offer it in aluminum. Maybe they will in years to come they are a new comer I belive in making Case's but they seem to on the right track.

That's the case I am probably going to get (R4). Amazon is sold out, MC doesn't carry it yet and not sure about New Egg these days. I'm going to MC this weekend to look at the R3 to get a better idea. Have you seen this R4 review?

I used to be a pretty die hard Lian Li fan because they look so damn nice, but once I experienced the low noise cooling ability of the arguably garish SilverStone Raven cases (I have an RV01 too) they started to become much more attractive to me.
 
The only thing I hear about that Case RV02 and the other Silver Stone Case's that have the 180m fans on the bottom is that a lot of GPUs don't work good with them. I thing this is because of the way the air cooling is done.
It is great if the card pulls from the rear of the Card or even the side of the Card as long as they push the air threw the the other end of the card. If they don"t like I have seen a lot of cards do this make a lot of heat in case rise a lot.
Also the R4 Will take any size of GPU card were the RV02 may have a problem.

The Air coming from bottom of the case and rising is supposed to be great at cooling other than that from what I have read but I cant say for sure never had one
 
I've never had any video card temp issues with either the RV01 or RV02. Since I got my first Raven (the RV01) I've run GTX 470 SLI (NV reference), GTX 580 (NV reference), MSI Radeon 6950 Twin FrozrII, Radeon 7970 (AMD reference), EVGA 560Ti-448 core Classified, and now a GTX 680 (NV reference).

The NV and AMD reference cards are all blower designs from the back of the card, but the TwinFrozr and Classified cards are not and the heatsink fin direction on these two cards are different. The TwinFrozr fins run lengthwise, and the Classy fins run widthwise.

The RV02 and FT03 are among the best air cooled cases around. Although, if you do get a card that is longer than a Radeon 6990 it won't fit.
