Ok cases are one thing I'm kind of behind the eight ball on. Heres ehat I have now...

Case: Antec Sonata
CPU: P4 2.8 (hyperthreded version)
GPU: nVidia 5900 Ultra
Optical: DVD/CD RW
HD: Dual 10K RPM WD SATA
Sound: SB Audigy 2 Plat
PSU: 390W TruePower (the one that comes with the case)

I seem to be having some heating/airflow issues. My case temps at times push 50C and CPU can run upwards of 60. We won't even go into the temp of the hard disks.

What I am looking for is a recommendation for a case/cooling options to get things back to normal, so airflow is a must and some cooling option for the hard drives, be it built in or add on. I dont need a whisper quiet case, but one I could stnad to be int eh same room with would be nice.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, well the case you have is pretty well liked it seems, but it seems like maybe you're having a problem with it. Have you checked to make sure that the fans are flowing air through instead of all sucking air in or anything? Maybe add a fan to the front of the case to have it suck air in and the one in the back blow it out.

I've never seen my case temps go anywhere near that, even when I only had 3 fans going, although, admittedly I don't have 2 10K RPM hard drives running either.

My suggestion, if possible, add some fans to the front, and check the input/output of the fans. Maybe try getting some different fans.

I guess knowing how many and what type of fans you have in there would help.

Admittedly I did forgety a few deatils. This case used to house an older PC of mine, put the ne components in it, was thinking of putting hte old PC back and getting a new case anyway... But I digress.

theres a 120mm exhaust fan on the back, verified it is exhausting air. There is no front fan I believe, the case is 'stock'. I know I could add more cooling to the case. but was probably looking to get a new one anyway.. I'm not quite sure how to mounf the front 120Mmm fan after looking at the case, was thinking of just getting one that had better airflow characterisits as it was. I have moved the PC and that has helped some, it wasnt totalyl congeted where it ws, but is on top of the desk with its side panel off, cooling ok that way (except for the drives), but its a little noisy with its clothes off.
