Looking for a new case/psu/mobo...

Current build:

P4 HT 2.8C
Kingston 512mb
Gainward 4x AGP Ti4200 64mb
ASRock P4L-800M Mobo (wanna upgrade)
Unknown Case+PSU (wanna upgrade)

main reason for this upgrade is because of the "compact" size there is not enough room for additional devices and it gets HOT inside. spending about $100-$150 for the mobo and $60-$100 for case and psu.

oh yeh and im a new member, nice to meet ya'll 🙂

It will help to tell us what you want.

Do you want enough room for just a few drives, or do you plan on eventually getting up towards 10? Do you want Front USB? Are you looking for something quiet? Good looking? Cheap?

On your motherboard, do you need firewire? SATA? 5.1 Onboard sound?

for the case and psu, i really recommend you the antec sonata. it's quiet, looks great, and comes with a very strong 380W psu.

Why is it so many people short chage their systems with cheap power supplies? MAN this drives me nuts. You are all doing yourselves this disservice?!

I just got myself this case.

The SLK3700AMB by antec. Not as flashy as others but it has front and back 120mm fan mounts.
Not only that but it also has a removable HD cage. If you ever decide to go to watercooling, just remove the cage and put the radiator and pump there. ( you still have the 5 1/2 and floppy slots for HDs) Hard to beat for $64 and free shipping.

BTW the PSU with this is antec 350 smartpower. If you plan to OC or have lots of HD and peripherals consider the Fortron 530W. If price is no object and you want the best ATX PSU, get the PC Power and Cooling 510 Turbo Deluxe.

I personally think this case is better than the sonata but that is a matter of opinion.
