I just built a new rig (see sig) and I also added a Hauppage HVR 1800. this card does not play well with Ulead DVD or Vista 64 or 4 gigs of ram. I talked to Hauppage and they do not know when things will change. So I am looking for another card. I found this one

and it seems like it would work. does anybody else have some suggestions? I do a lot of VHS to DVD and editing so it has to have analog and digital. I like Ulead but am open to another software. Nero is ok, right now I have the free version of Nero 7 I am also looking at DVD power director . PciE x1 would be nice but not mandatory. Thanks

I replaced my Hauppauge HVR-1600 because of the same problems. I ended up getting an ATI TV Wonder. Works well enough. I only needed it for analog. I use my HD Homerun for digital.

I have both an ATI Theatre 550 (TV Wonder Elite, I think) and an AverTV Media, or whatever it's called. Both work well in Vista 64 with Vista MC and no driver installs are necessary for either card. QAM on the AverTV card works thru a workaround in Vista MC, and I think AverTV has their own software for QAM viewing. Haven't tried OTA HD on the card yet, but it's supposed to work seamlessly in Vista MC, from what I've read.

Not sure what your problems with the 1800 have been, but I had problems with the HVR-1600 using Vista 64 and 4GB ram and installing the beta drivers fixed all of my issues.

Have you tried to use the beta drivers for the 1800?

I thought the HD Homerun was the only QAM card that'd work under MCE?

That's good to know. It's seamless? How many tuners does it have and can you have more than one in the same box?
