Looking for a new AGP video card...

I'm trying to sell an old system:

MSI KT6 Delta
AMD 1700+ T-Bred
1GB DDR400

and formally an ATI 9600XT AIW.

Well, the video card is crapping out on me link, so I'm wondering what I can throw in this thing so I can sell it. I have a feeling the cpu is going to be a big limiting factor. The guy I'm selling to likes to play UT2004, and Battlefield 1942. He also wants a dual-head, one VGA, one DVI.

I'm thinking along the lines of the Sapphire9600XT for $46 after shipping. Is this going to be alright? I don't want to spend a lot, but I don't want to short the guy either. He said his games ran fine on the AIW, but I know that has higher speed gpu and RAM. The Sapphire though does have 256MB instead of 128 for the AIW. What do you guys think?

Thanks,
Jim

That is decent. I'm still using AGP until I get a new mobo, etc. I have two of them - ione with a ATI 1300X/128MB and the other a 1600X/512MB.

So it should still play Battlefield 1942 and UT2004 on 1680x1050 without too much a problem, right?

Possibly BF1942, but probably not UT2004. Why not just sell it to him with the video card that's in it, and let him decide on which video card he wants to buy?

Vanilla x800 will do fine for UT2004.

Which reminds me, I haven't played that in aaaages! Now I wanna reinstall it and get fragging.

So I guess what I'm asking, is what video card is most bang for the buck to do what he wants (BF1942, UT2k4) without the cpu limiting the performance? I used to keep up with stuff, but sort of fell away 3-4 years ago. He's a good friend so I want to get him a good card. However I don't to waste my/his money.

What I'm looking at now is:
Sapphire Radeon 9600PRO 256MB for $52
SAPPHIRE Radeon 9600XT 256MB for $58
EVGA GeForce 6200 LE 256MB for $62

if you guys really think it would make a huge difference, you might be able to talk me into the next step up:
POWERCOLOR X1550 for $84
SAPPHIRE Radeon X1550 256MB for $90
BIOSTAR GeForce 6800XT 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 for $90.

But this would take some convincing. Thanks guys
