I need a 80x80x25 fan with the following specs:

1. No LEDs or glow-in-the-dark - black preferred;
2. 3-pin connector;
3. At least 24.0 CFM;
4. No more than 21.0 DBA - lower would be better (no duh!);

Links would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The Panaflo L1BX is still a good fan - jab-tech.com has them. If you have room for a 80x38, sidewindercomputers.com usually has some Delta 3-blade fans - but you'd have to turn 'em down a bit to hit the noise/airflow specs you set. The Sharkoon golf ball fans are a nice and quiet tech, but IDK where you'd find any except LED here (but you could cut the LED leads).

LOL. That is actually the fan model I am replacing (it is getting louder every moment).

Given that bit of information, would you suggest just replacing it with another L1BX?

It would probably be OK, the bearing is very like the Panaflo. SVC has that one and the also have the Global Win ceramic/fluid bearing which is reportedly quiet and they'll ship by First Class mail for under $3.00. I haven't bought any 80mm fans in a loooooong time.

I would give my vote for the Yate Loon 80mm Low Speed fan. I bought two of them a little while ago. One for use on my new HR-05 IFX chipset sink, and one as a side fan on my case. It says 25CFM @ 26dB.

I don't go much by dB ratings as they don't tell you anything about the distance they took the reading *cough* thermaltake *cough*. I just read reviews and personal experience. All I know is I can hardly hear it when I just sit it there and I can't hear it at all in my case (Though lets face it I got two 120mm 90CFM fans in there too :p)

Still that's what I would recommend. Cheap and very affective.

80mm Yate

BTW, is anyone else noticing that the Jabby site is running slow as molasses this morning? Took me 5 minutes just to get a link..

Jab-Tech is fast enough - have you tried OpenDNS.com? I use ODNS it and it is pretty cool.
