I kinda liked the NEC FE700. Get it from buy and use the 20 of 100. Try looking at the Samsung and Viewsonic flat tube monitors too. If you really want cheap try to see if mobshop has the E771 anymore. I think I got it for 160 or 170 with shipping. It is a decent monitor.

Hmm I heard the Viewsonic E771 is nice too. Try posting this or try searching for threads in the VIDEO forum. You might get much better results.

I have the ViewSonic E771.
It is awesome.
It and the Optiquest Q73 are almost exactly alike.

Go with the Viewsonic E771, I know a bunch of people that love theirs. You can get it at Egghead.com for $209.99 with $4.95 flat rate shipping. I think you can also get 5% off until June 30 with the "BP699" certificate code. Hope this helps and good luck. :)

I am trying to decide too. The three I am going back and forth between (with "AFTER" coupon and shipping prices from Buy.com) are:

Hitachi CM615 ($208.95)

Viewsonic E771 ($194.90)

NEC Accusync 70 ($182.90)

Which of the three is the best to go with? The difference in dollars is not the main issue of these three. I just want the best quality and clarity.

Thanks!

Well Mobshop has the E771 again. Right now it is 200 but if more peopel get it like when I got it then the price goes down. It can go down to 185. There is free shipping and I think a 25 off 100 if you use a visa card. Go to pointclick and get your 10% off too. So 185-25-16=$144. $144 for the E771 is really worth it. I suggest you try it. Even if it doens't get lower than 200 you get it for 200-25-17.50=$157.50 which is still a damn good deal. Hope this helps.

Go to coupon section in techbargains.com for the coupon info. You must use a Visa though I think.

I would go with the Optiquest Q75 or the ViewSonic EF70. Price Watch has the Q75 for under 250 w/o shipping and the EF70 for a little over 250 w/o shipping. However, both of these monitors use an aperture grille pitch which most gamers prefer.

Ok...it is now definitely down to:

Hitachi CM615
or
Viewsonic E771

The Hitachi is about $20 more, but I really don't care about the difference in price as being a factor. Which is a better monitor?

I'd definately get the monitor from Onvia.com. They have free shipping. Unfortunately, someone told me the pointclick and $25 off deal is gone but they still have very cheap prices and again free shipping is important for a big heavy monitor.

I was gonna recommend the Hitachi CM615 or the Viewsonic E771 but you already have those narrowed down. I couldn't tell ya which is better but a lot of the people say E771 one is good. However, the Hitachi CM615 has a substantially lower dot pitch (.23mm compared to .27mm of the E771) but I don't know how much that matters. I think you would be great with either one. You could check the refresh rates on each from the manufacturer but I believe the E771 ones are higher.

The E771 is our best selling 17" of all-time. Though I've never used one, apparently people are buying it because it does the job. :)
