Looking for a Muslim Response

After reading the response from the Taliban leader about if the US attacks Afghanistan - All Muslims need to declare a jihad (holy war) against the United States.

I have been abhorred by the atrocities committed last week. What I am curious about is - How do Muslims here feel about the statement made here:

I am curious. The US has a large Muslim population - how do you feel about the choices you have to make? This topic should not be an argument or have any hate language in it. Please take care in your responses!! However, I think we really need to understand that is NOT a holy war. This is bringing murderers to justice. I would like to know how the Muslim community feels about these statements.

i have a muslim friend and he thinks their all fags. theres so many sects of islam that they're actually pretty disjointed. one clerical sect may declare jihad but other would just ignore them

I was watching a history channel look at Bin Laden last night.

It amazes me the hate that is harbored against the US by not just terrorist sects, but many people.
Given it is TV and you can only believe half of what you see and a quarter of what you hear - Many people in countries such as Sudan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Egypt, and others that practice fundamental or orthodox Islam look to Bin Laden as an idol. An Arabian Michael Jordan of sorts.
