So I have a desktop computer, but am looking to buy a touchscreen monitor, so I can use some apps that utilize touch.

I know I could just buy whatever and itll work OK, but ideally, I would like the features that Ive seen on the surface. Mainly - Id like to be able to have part of my hand resting on the screen, while it will only pick up what im writing with the pen. Having pressure sensitivity is OK, but the main thing is I want some sort of "stylus mode" so I can use it without having my hand keep messing it up.

I found a few the other day that looked OK, but I dont know if they have this feature. Here are the ones I was talking about:

Lemme know what you think. Sorry for two threads, but I think this is a separate issue than the other one. Thanks!

The Wacom Cintiq is what you're looking for. Be warned, they ain't cheap!

Wow, so for that alone the surface seems like a steal. I remember one of the double fine guys drawing on it and saying how it's close to what he was using but much cheaper - this is probably what he was using before.

I'll probably just go with a regular touch then. Thanks

I found it pretty hard to justify even a normal touchscreen for my desktops. My screens generally sit farther back and it's an awkward motion.

Yep, the Surfrace Pro is the same idea, but cheaper due to higher volumes. The prior generation Surface Pro's actually used Wacom technology in fact. The newer ones use a cheaper solution from N-trig, who unfortunately only sell controllers to OEMs and don't produce any standalone displays themselves.
