Looking for a medium priced netbook.

I'm looking for a netbook for around $400. The only thing I care about is screen resolution. I'd like something under 10 inches, 8.9 preferable. I was looking at a UMPC but the netbooks seem like a better choice, and WAY cheaper. I would like to have xp so that I can use my cellphone as a laptop, and storage and power really isn't an issue, but I'd prefer a gig of ram. Any suggestions?
 
From your description the Acer Aspire One sounds to be what you need. For XP you are going to be spending more than $400. Take a look here.
 
Right now there is a Canadian retailer on Ebay selling the aspire one for 376$ with $30 shipping.

Using the 25% MS live search cashback this will get you a new aspire one for around $300. Not too shabby and I'm about to bite on it myself.

theres a thread at a large deal site about it, i just went through it so ill make it easy:

first, find what you want on ebay and click "watch this item"
you *MUST* be able to pay through paypal with the vendor
it *might* be possible that they require immediate payment, i dont recall

next, go to msn live search and search for....well, what you wanna buy, or anything.
on the results page will be an ebay banner with a thing advertising "live search cashback"


Click it: it will take you to an ebay search.
go to your "watching" section on My Ebay and select the item you want to buy

Click BUY IT NOW
on the confirmation page, at the bottom, you will see if you can get cashback
if you can, it will show how much you can get refunded
which is up to $250 per transaction, for 3 transactions

Buy your item, and you will see a message saying you have a message!
go to the message in My Ebay, read, blah blah.
you have to create a MSN Live account.

Youll get a cashback pending message within a day or two on your Live account
you can get the cashback sent to your paypal account after 60 days
(this is in case you return the item) and viola, you get money 🙂


i bought a loaded Thinkpad T60 yesterday because i should get $225 cashback for it. way over my budget without cashback, and just under it with the deal....so i couldnt pass it up 🙂
