It was posted here, and I want to send the link to a friend, but I can't find it. It was rather long and completely dissected the movie, pointing out religious symbolism, why Zion was the real world and not a matrix, etc. It pointed out that the one thing about humans that Agent Smith despised the most, their growth, he was now trying to approximate through replication since he had become somewhat human when he and Neo "merged" or whatever.

that's not it, but it reminded me of a few other points the article made:

- humanity blackening the sky was symbolic of an assault on heaven
- the machines kept the humans alive, not for energy, but because they needed them to learn how to evolve

Agreed, even if it wasn't a good interpertation.. it sure as hell is a lot better then hearing people just say "it sucked" and have not a shread of anything to back up what they say

After I remembered the point about the assault on heaven, I googled for "matrix reloaded assault heaven" and found it.

His "Foundation of Criticsm" removes any hint of realism thus making the movie a parable. This is an inverse telling of Paradise Lost.

In response to jfall:
Yesterday I watched a glass of water for 10 minutes. In that time I found the water to scintillating, spectacular in it's wetness, and the overall feeling of water in a glass was overwhelming. In short, that one glass of water had more acting ability in it than Keanu in this second Matrix movie. To me the movie sucked because of it's pretentiousness. But like all things called art, suckiness is purely subjective.
