I have a single 7950 @ 1150c/1500m and I have been looking for a good monitor with low ghosting, decent picture and a good warranty (loathe dead pixels). Budget is pretty much $300 and under. I play games a lot on this PC, but I also read a lot as well as watching movies. I do not do much video/photo editing for anything other than for fun. Would like to keep it at 60 FPS most of the time, so I do not think I can do 1440p/1600p with a single card.
My current monitor is a 22" Acer X223W 1680x1050, which seems to lack any ghosting/input lag problems. There is a bit of backlight bleeding and a dead pixel, but it is fine other than that. No idea how accurate the colors are, but I am sure even decent TN panels have this beat. Can not really find reviews on this to compare to current monitors so I am at a loss.
I have looked at the e-IPS line up and I have heard some bad things about the 2412M and the 2312HM with their ghosting/reverse ghosting. I do not know how it compares to mine though. I do like their stands a lot as well as the adjustments to it. I am fond of the 16:10 ratio since that's what I have used for close to 4 years now, but I have still looked at some 16:9 monitors.
For TN monitors I always seem to run into good deals on ASUS and most people say the input lag/ghosting is minimal on these screens, but there is so many it is hard to tell which is good (newegg reviews are not generally informative either). Stands on ASUS monitors seem to be cheap and/or wobbly too. Does not help that their warranty on dead pixels is something like 5 minimum for a return and that's pretty awful in my opinion.
So basically I do not know what monitors are good, since I really have not had much experience on what is good. I wish OLED monitors were mainstream, so I would not really have to choose between either, but I guess that is not for a while. Anyways, any advice is greatly appreciated.
