My friend has a Centrino based Acer Travelmate 803-somthing that he absolutly loves, 15" screen, Pentium M @ 1.6Ghz (and it kills P4s at 2.2) and a 64 Mb Ati 9000, plus its pretty light. I must say it is one of the fastest and longest running laptops I've ever seen.
If you want a portable quasi-laptop, one of my coworkers has a Alienware with a desktop 3.06Ghz P4 and a Radeon 9000 with 128Mb (he actually just ordered it) so something like that would be an option (assuming you can stand the weight and the 1.5 hr battery life).
Lastly I'm buying a Dell D600 with a Centrino but since it's thin and light with a 14" screen you probably don't want it. My recommendation: if you buy dell get either an 8500 P4m or an D800 Pentium M, both have large screens, Ati 9000s or Geforce4 4200s.
Or wait for the Radeon 9200 or 9600 in Dell 8600 or 6xxm models later in summer.
