Looking for a Light, Inflexible Mouse Surface

I have been upgrading and moving around and during that, my wireless keyboard from my Cordless Desktop MX died. I have begun the RMA process to get it exchanged and said farewell to my MX700, Legend among mice.

Now, I game and stuff from my bed and rest my mouse on my sheets and use it like that. Obviously with me getting into gaming again, this is like riding a bicycle down a steep, bumpy hill. The tracking at times is abysmal.

I am looking for something which I probably wont have to go to an online computer shop and fork out £20 (UK person) for.

It must be light as I will be using my bed as a bed on occaision, usually once per day. It has to be quite inflexible as it needs to bear the mouse weight and my arm pressure on an uneven surface. It must be a trackable and smooth surface to allow for smooth mouse movement.

I was actually thinking of a small sheet of glass covered in something like teflon or soft felt but I rejected the idea as glass doesnt sound fun to play with.

I look forward to some practical suggestions.

My setup Is a glass top nightstand to which I glued leather but for what you want a clipboard would work nicely. This is what I use when doing repair, having a notepad handy always helps when you can't copy/ paste.

I bought a nice black cutting board from Walmart for about $10 bucks that works surprisingly good with my g7. I actually use the board as a backing for my large mousepad but it works without the mousepad on top to.

These seem to be US only and shipping to the UK is extortionate.

Online companies will try to charge you $30, $40 hell Ive even seen one try to charge me $80 to ship a graphics card (GeForce 4 Ti series).

I did a quick check on UK ebay and turned up nada.

Just go into the kitchen and borrow a serving tray. The size is up to you. :)
