Looking for a laptop

WIth xmas coming up it's time to find the good deals. My brother in law would like a laptop for xmas and I haven't bought one in years so I am a little out of style on whats hot. Basically it will be for work related activites and daily use. He wants one with decent battery life so I'm assuming I want an M processor??? he would also like 512ram but HD space isn't that important. Does anyone know of any deals out there for under 700. Thanks
 
Yes, you want Centrino / Pentium M for the best battery life. Celeron M has some of the power-saving disabled so it isn't as good.

Get one of those new uber leet hand crank computer they are selling to kids in third world countries you can get one for like $200 😛
 
get the 512mb version at Walmart, the 256mb versions are scams though, so don't get your pockets picked at
