I'm looking for a laptop, around $2000 canadian.

What I'm mostly looking for is something with a really nice screen, as I will be using this laptop about 6 hours a day.
I was looking at the Dell Inspiron 8500 with the 15.4" screen. Whats the differnce between WXGA, WSXGA, WUXGA?

What are your comments?
Thanks

The best laptop screen is the one that Toshiba use in their 5200-S705 (I'm not sure but I think I remember the model number correctly). In canada, they might use different model. Anyway, it is hard to find now since toshiba discontinue the model almost after the first month of releasing it (which is very odd to me). As of now, you can check the Sony GRT series laptop. some of the models (not all since the GRT model sport 14" upto 16" LCD and the one I saw that have good quality is the 15" one) have a very similar screen as of the Toshiba 5200-S705. Both have screen similar to a high quality HDTV. The color are much better than a normal LCD and the picture and text are very sharp. It should be noted also that it is very reflective (compare to other LCDs) similar to the high quality HDTV (again).

Anyway, my preference (for the LCD aspect only) is Sony GRT, IBM T40/41, e-Machine (don't laugh, the LCD on the e-machine 15" widescreen laptop are quite good quality and consider it is only ~$1.1k, it is a bargain).

I love the 15.4" UltraSharp WUXGA screen on my Dell Inspiron 8500. It has a max resolution of 1920x1200 and looks very nice and sharp.
