Looking for a laptop that will last me about a year

Hey,

I am currently looking for a laptop to take with me in a deployment in December.

The laptop currently on the top of the list for me is Toshiba A505-S6965

Basic info,

C2D P7350
4GB DD2
500GM HD
ATI Mob Radeon HD 4570
etc

I can get it for around 650 after taxes.

My main questions are... 1. I need to buy the laptop as soon as possible due to some training and work and im looking to buy the laptop in the next week, will this system A505-S6965 be outdated and slow by December? Do you believe I should just wait for November to come around until i purchase due to new technology or is this system above average. 2. Does anyone have any recommendations around this laptop price that will be about as good if not better? 3. I enjoy playing modern games, from what I have seen this will play most at medium-high levels, anyone have any expierence with this graphics card? Thanks your opinions will be greatly appreciated if you happen to have other comments please feel free to let me know your opinions about this laptop. Thanks

outdated how? anything you buy this year will last a year + unless there are mechanical problems with it

I actually have this exact same laptop... I like it a lot, for what it's worth. Only games I've tried on it are WoW and Sims 3, and it plays both of them quite well at high settings. This is likely helped by the moderately low resolution screen, however (1366x7689).
