Looking for a laptop for school/gaming

I'm looking for a laptop that has good battery life (at least 5 hours) and has a decent graphics card and 1GB RAM. My budget is around $1000. thx

I doubt you're going to find something with 5 hour battery life and a decent graphics card in the $1000 price range.

I agree...in the laptop market you just dont seem to be able to have your cake...and eat it too!

My T60 can get 5 hours if I dim the screen a bit and do some undervolting and device disabling. But a GMA950 isn't so hot. Does anyone with a T60 with an X1300 or X1400 have comments?

The T60 can be gotten with an optional 9 cell battery..this battery in conjuction with X1400 discrete graphics would probably provide about 5 hrs of usage that jds2006 is looking for. Although not within his $1000 budget range. A T60 configured like this would probaly be in the $1700 range.
