I had fantastic results on my Asus Rampage Formula X48.

I got an E8400 to 4.7Ghz and my old Q9450 to 4Ghz. A massive amount of options and a community at Xtremesystems that still put out modded BIOS and talk about the board!

Fantastic board!

I am also in love with my ASUS X48 RAMPAGE. It has every tunning option desired or required to reach that perfect overclock. I'm mostly limited by a bad CPU sample. :(

-Small increments in Vcore to acheive stability at min voltage
-Optional LLC
-Tons of DRAM ratios/timmings including TRD ("performance level") control over each memory channel
-Auto CPU overclocking ("EZ Step-up") for the lazzy nub
-Auto & Manual Fan controls for all 5 fan headers
-8 Phase Power for a clean line with very little jitter
-Great temps with stock heatsink covering the NB/SB and MOSFETs but still clearing my massive GTX280 and TRUE while leaving all 6 SATA ports open

If you can find one on the market, definitely. The consensus LGA 775 quality boards have all disappeared from the market. Still, it might be possible to luck into one.

There are a few on Ebay going cheap, from a quick check.

So, if I asked for a terrific location in Manhattan to open a new business office you would advise WTC? Duh?

I don't even know how to respond to that pointless argument.

But excuse me, you are right, the next person who asks about a new mobo for his current system I will respond "It's old trash it all and get a new SB system you worthless twit"

What were the concensus LGA 775 quality boards? (just for research purposes and what made them good?)

Why suggest something that is no longer an active product?

Because he obviously likes it? For all we know he may have access to a couple free boards, or snag a used one off ebay or somewhere. I know I sold a old working socket754 board with cpu for like 10 bucks on ebay. It was worthless to me but obviously someone could use it. Outdated tech for sure, but for 20 bucks shipped I'm sure their kid is probably playing games on it happy as a lark :p

Look for high end Asus, Gigabyte, MSI ... All the usual suspects..

Just google something like: " P45 roundup "

Lot of hits and info ..

Thanks, just found a huge review. Whatever happened to DFI?

DFI took a sh*t as a company making motherboards....i'm currently using a x48 dfi dk motherboard and this piece of crap refuses to clock my e8200 pass 3.2ghz at any given voltage period .

As for the suggestions for the asus rampage x48,yup i played with one myself and it is one sexy piece of equipment .

If i saw one and perhaps a matching q9550 or something for a decent price i would be interested cause asus made that big and made all others go home:D

Wouldn't pay no more then $250 for the two myself .
