Sort of as a late B-day gift. She just moved to NY and I wanted to get her a good wireless keyboard. Hopefully something that matches the styling/color of the Logitech MX700 Wireless mouse. Any ideas? I am new to the "peripheral" market since I mostly focused on my computer's performance and would overlook the keyboard and mouse. I would appreciate the help.

Maybe I could buy the Cordless Elite Duo for the keyboard and buy the MX700 mouse, just to ditch the lower quality Elite Duo mouse. Would the MX700 work off of the wireless transmitter for the keyboard? Anyone well versed in this area?

Sadly, the MX700 doesn't work with any of the other Logitech receivers. I'm using it paired with the keyboard from the wireless keyboard/mouse set Logitech were giving away in that competition, and the only thing keeping them from perfection is that they can't share the same receiver.

Of course, if they did share the keyboards receiver I'd still have the mx700 receiver on my desktop to charge it, so I guess I'm not losing anything.

I guess what I'm waiting for is the next gen wireless desktop where you dock both the keyboard and mouse overnight to charge, and never have to worry about batteries again!

*EDIT* Just checked - the one I'm using is the Cordless Navigator Duo SE - a very nice keyboard indeed, but sadly they only sell it in white - the SE is black and silver and goes great with the MX700!

i think that the logitech elite cordless one would look the best with the mx700..

plus i have heard that many users that have this keyboard are really pleased with it...

Well functionality is a much bigger concern for me than looks. I am just not so sure of the Cordless Elite's mouse working properly in comparison with the MX700. In other words I hope there aren't any really bad quirks with the Cordless Elite Duo because I believe that will be the one I am going with.

Well, there are definately no bad quirks with the cordless navigator duo SE - its a wonderful piece of kit. The batteries on the keyboard have lasted for ages, and I use it quite a bit, and the function keys are damn useful. The mouse that came with it was logitech's bog standard wireless optical one, not as good as the elite mouse, and I still thought that it was great - miles better than my old wired, ball logitech mouse.

I don't think you'll have many problems, but you'll definately have a great setup!

Btw, my ex always said that computers bore her to tears, but even she was really impressed by this set, so it ought to be a popular gift...

Found a killer deal at Target the other day, Logitech wireless and optical mouse and keyboard for 25.00 it was on clearance, and i asked them why to be shady of the package, and i checked it out, nothing had been touched, simply someone returned it and it was open, so my girl picked it up and now is happy with a wireless and wireless mouse !:)
