I currently have 3 remotes plus my 360 remote. I'd like to get one remote that can control my tv, surround sound, xbox (if I can?) cable box... lights maybe? Whatever else I can, but within a budget. Don't really want to go above 150, less if possible. I've heard logitech are good? Are there any other brands I should be looking at? Any specific models?

Is this what you are talking about rossman? Or is it a different one? When I do a google search for that remote I get something different. Does it have a specific model number?

Pretty much all of the Logitech Harmony remotes can control the Xbox360. The one above just has those A, B, X, Y buttons built in which the other remotes display on their LCD as soft keys. Personally I think that remote is ugly. I have the Harmony 676 which I dont think they make anymore and was replaced by the 670. I have no problem controlling my 360 with it as far as dvd, video, and music playback goes.

I had a 360 harmony and thought it was overkill. I ended up getting one of these gamer remotes and am very happy with it.

I was very surprised with the learning features it has, and that it worked perfectly, and it has a backlight as well. It also has all the 360 buttons/functions, including the media center button. It performs the macro functions very well too. What I liked best about it is all the buttons are large enough and well spaced out, unlike many harmony remotes.

I found a bunch of these on clearance brand new like 6 months ago and bought some, and gave them to all my friends. They are all satisfied. I'd be happy to send you one if you'd like, just pay shipping.

All that said, the harmony 360 remote is also a great unit, I found nothing wrong with it while I used it for about 4 weeks.

Logitech Harmony.

I have the 550. Controls everything, and if it doesn't have the code, it's a learning remote and you can program it from your other remotes.

I got the Harmony 550 and let me tell you, I ain't happy with it. Does it consolidate all the remotes? Yes. Does it work seamlessly with all my components? No. That thing is a pain in the ass to use, and I REALLY don't like it. If anyone wants it, let me know. I think I've only used it once or twice before I said, this thing sucks. I'm looking to sell it so if there's anyone interested, let me know.

I'm just going to go all out next time for my next remote. No more of these half ass things. I know someone with a Harmony 1000 and the thing is JUST what I'm looking for. It's either that or the Philips Pronto TSU9600. I prefer to get the Pronto, but it may be hard for me to part with that kind of money for a remote. The thing is BAD ASS though!

You're doing something wrong or have some extremely finicky equipment.

I have at least a half a dozen Harmonies I've set up for myself, relatives, and clients and have yet to hear a single complaint like yours.
