What do you guys use? I'm a Grad student and I'd like to get my own credit card separate from my debit card to build some good credit.

Amex is nice. I've very rarely had an issue using it. I have a regular Amex Blue, but I'm not sure what is different about the student version.

why get a student CC? dont you have credit? (a grad student i assume has taken a loan or two in his life) a student card has higher interest rates and none of the benefits of the regualr cards usually...

i had a student amex blue as my first CC. after graduating i got a regular amex blue and the itnerest rate was 5% lower than the rate on my student card and i also got money back (yay cash rewards) :p

On any purchase I make I plan on immediately paying with my bank account. Just an FYI.

My office works on this issue. I would reccomend Citi Dividend For Students over the Amex. The dividend is easier to acquire, it has better percentage on cash back than amex cards, and it can easily help you increase your credit by allowing you to increase your credit after a good payment history.
