Looking for a good scanner

I'm leaning toward SCSI because I have to scan a lot of photos and I want to do it at a very high resolution. Looking to spend around $300 and I'll get a good SCSI card separately.

I use the Epson 1640SU scanner (USB and SCSI interfaces; although I use it in USB mode) and it works very well (after downloading the latest driver and program updates if you're running XP).

The scanner is fast (so much so it scans a bit and then waits for the USB interface to catch up with the data transfer) and the detail is sharp.

All of the pictures, logos, etc. here (go to some of the products) were scanned with the Epson. One certainly can't beat the price.
