I am looking for a nice online game since I just got DSl. I play CS and CSS most of the time but I know there has to be something better. They are fun, BUT the hitboxes are all messed up and there are a lot of cheaters. I tried DOD, AA, Halo 1+2, Natural Selection, Sven Coop, and ET and I am not impressed. I want a game that runs smoothly and doesn't have a ton of bugs or cheaters. I want to be able to keep track of stats or have rankings. Maybe you can upgrade your player if you do good. I like realistic games more, but I think you die to easily in CS. I definately don't want to pay a monthly fee or anything like that. I am just looking for some good old fun. I might give ET a another run becuase I haven't played it in a while. Any suggestions?

Have you tried Battlefield 1942 with the mod Forgotten Hope?

Forgotten Hope not be your cup of tea, but a bit more realistic than BF1942, takes place in WW2 setting. Been a while since I played it, but the vehicle hits were reasonable, not sure about the infantry though.

Also, Brother in Arms came out recently, not sure about the multiplay on it, but could check around gaming review sites to see how they liked it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I may try BattleField or Unreal. I just downloaded ET again and I think I might actually like it.

Red Orchestra, a mod for UT2004. Of course the original UT2004 is good too and some servers have stats. I do not think there is any game without cheaters, except for maybe chess.

Heh, and if you're playing that online you can load up Chessmaster 9000 or whatever and just play as your opponent, then copy the computer's moves. I haven't done that but I imagine it would work.

If they're face to face with you then there isn't cheating. Unless they have some kind of micro-speaker in their ear with some Chessmaster telling them what to do, hah.

call of duty is a great multiplayer fps, or you could wait for stalker and call of duty 2.

I second Urban Terror mod for quake 3 and also red orchestra if you love realism.
