I am currently shopping for a multifunction printer for my mother - printer/scanner/copier, fax is optional. Her price limit is around $300.
I am looking at three different MFP's, the HP Officejet 6110, the Canon MultiPASS F60, and the HP PSC 950.
I have an older HP Deskjet 722, it has worked beautifully for me for over five years now - have to replace ink cartridges twice a year or so (I think, I don't really keep track). However, while reading reviews I have heard numerous negative comments regarding newer HP products and their ink usage. Has anyone here encountered this problem?
I would prefer to go an HP printer, as they are what I am relatively familiar with, but I (obviously) want to get the best product that my mother can afford. Does anyone have any advice they can offer?
EDIT: I should clarify exactly what she's looking for - she wants to get into scrapbooking and being able to make cards and manipulate older family photos on her computer, and so forth - the printer needs to have a relatively high quality photo quality capability, but needs to include the other two/three functions as well.
On the other hand, if she might be better off getting a separate printer/scanner for around the same price, does anyone have a combo they would recommend?
