looking for a GOOD media player for linux

whats everyone using for playing media files in linux? specifically for music and for movies/etc? doesn't seem to be that many full featured ones?

I prefer VLC for videos, and Rhythmbox for audio files personally. There are a lot of other players available though. XMMS, Totem, Banshee, etc.

I used the defaults from ubuntu, Totem and Rhythmbox, they worked exeptionally well and I never saw the need to seek out anythign else.

Exaile for managing your iPod and mp3's, if you are on Gnome. It is a Amarok port for gnome that is coded in python and supports quite a number of plugins. The plugins are easily installed from the main interface.
