needs to have:
onboard dvi and vga out
micro atx format
am2 socket
firewire
onboard sound with coax spdif out
4 memory slots for dual core 64 x2

The msi K9AGM-FID is close, but no spdif bracket
and I prefer to stay away from msi due to no human tech support

ABIT NF-M2 nView is a great board with everything you want on it it worked for me and would overclock to 220 fsb.
the sound is great and the abit name is a plus.
The onboard vga has digital out for lcd monitors and will play low level games ok.
overall for a htpc this one wins.

The only problem is where can you find the NF-M2? I've been searching for a month and no one out there has it in stock. Did Abit just quit making them? I'd love to get that board.

THanks for the time and replys.
The ABIT NF-M2 nView does look mighty fine, but it is hard to find.
Nice price.
But... I think i ran into a DVI issue once before. In that many mb's have dvi-i and my viewsonic monitor is dvi-D Seems it would not work with dvi-i connectors.

WHat ever you get make sure you get a AMD CHIPSET as its the best out there right now for onboard video and all that.

Does anyone have the DFI C51PV-M2/G Infinity board?
Did it come with coax spdif bracket?
Hows it rated for vista ready? Info says nothing on vista, so this must be an older baord?
But it has everything i need.
Hows the support (i.e. driver support, bios) from their web?

ps. Looks like this weird form factor isnt going to work. Not micro 9.6x9.6, but 10.4x9.6. I use the X-Qpack case and its only 9.6x9.6 compat. Back to the drawing board.
